Cookie policy
Working draft, to be reviewed by a lawyer before going live. This page lists what the final text has to cover. It is not a valid cookie policy.
No trackers today
The site sets no advertising cookie and runs no audience-measurement tool. What it keeps on your device only makes the cart, the configurator and order tracking work, and your photos are never stored there.
That is why there is no consent banner. The day an analytics tool is connected, the banner has to appear BEFORE anything is stored, and refusing has to be as easy as accepting.
What is stored, item by item
| Name | Type | What it is for | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cart | Local storage | Keeps the lines in your cart from page to page, and from one visit to the next. No photo is ever saved there. | Until you empty the cart or clear your browser |
| Configuration in progress | Local storage | Brings back the style, the universe, the format and the size you were picking, and the step you were on. | Until you clear your browser |
| Order details | Local storage | Saves you retyping the delivery address if the page reloads during payment. | Until you clear your browser |
| Session | Cookie | Recognizes you between two requests while you track an order or a figurine in production. | For as long as the session lasts |
| Audience measurement | None today | No analytics tool is connected. The day one is, it gets listed here and it asks for your consent before anything is stored. | None |
What a cookie is, and what counts as one
The final text has to cover cookies in the strict sense and browser local storage. TODO: name which of our markets treats local storage the same as a cookie, and from what point.
Functional cookies
The ones in the table above: they run the cart, the configurator and order tracking. The final text has to explain what stops working if you block them. TODO: name the consent exemption each market relies on for them.
Audience measurement and advertising
Nothing is connected today. The final text has to set out what happens the day a tool arrives: a banner before anything is stored, refusing as easy as accepting, and your choice remembered.
Third parties
Any provider that could store something from this site (hosting, payment) has to be named one by one, with what each one is for.
How to refuse, or wipe everything
The final text has to give the steps browser by browser, and remind you that clearing local storage also empties your cart and the configuration you were working on. Any questions: contact@joylamp.com.
How long your choice is kept
The day a banner exists, the final text has to say how long your answer is kept, and how to change it.
The other working drafts: privacy policy, legal notice, terms of sale and shipping and returns.
